The same famous earth pyramids in Terenten are worth a hike. After a storm in 1834, alluvial waters shaped new pillars, piling them up with the rain and meltwater of the the Terner river, which today can be seen as an impressive landmark of nature.

For Terenten are also our grain mills characteristic, connected by a charming mills didactic trail (1:45 hrs.) Other theme trails lead you while hiking around Terenten in the fabulous history of our place, at mystical places and idyllic spots such as the Aschburg. Further up on well-signposted panoramic trails across the lush grass of the pastures you can reach the open huts, which not only delight you with a hearty cuisine, but also with a magnificent view of the Kronplatz and in the Dolomites. The Kronplatz (2,275 m) itself is the perfect hiking paradise in summer – a first-class view summit, where the Messner Mountain Museum is located and invites you for a visit.

But perhaps we will make you feel like using the following tips to lace up the shoes for your hiking holiday in South Tyrol. Roam the picturesque Altfass valley, hike through the Winnebachtal to the rustic Tiefrasten hut – and if you are a mountaineer, continue on to the imposing Eidechsspitze (2,738 m). Beautiful tours lead to the Pertinger Alm, the Astnerbergalm (with barbecue) and the Plätzwiese on the high plateau of the Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Park.
