Your wellness chalet at Kronplatz

The Schmiedhof, the farm our chalet grew out of, has stood in Terenten for around 500 years. Our grandfather was a blacksmith, “Schmied” in German, which is where the chalet gets its name. Back then the farm also had a large hay barn.

When we built the chalet, we reused almost all the wood from the old barn. Every apartment carries a piece of that history. So at our place, the story of an old farm meets modern living.

Terenten is the sunny village on a high plateau above the Puster Valley, between Brixen and Bruneck. In summer there are alpine pastures, earth pyramids and old grain mills; in winter Kronplatz, the village ski lift, a toboggan run and cross-country trails. One of the finest playgrounds in the Puster Valley is 200 m from the house.

South Tyrol’s No. 1 ski mountain

The ski bus leaves right in front of our house, and by car it takes about 20 minutes. Then you’re at Kronplatz, South Tyrol’s largest ski area and part of Dolomiti Superski. At the top, a panoramic view over the Dolomites and the Zillertal Alps awaits.

Wide, sunny runs for easy-going skiers and families, plus the “Black Five”: five black runs, including some of the steepest in Italy. For the kids’ first turns there’s the village lift right in Terenten.
